1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how TecDesigns LLC, doing business as WakeMeUp ("WakeMeUp," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use the WakeMeUp mobile application, wakemeup.website, support services, and related application programming interfaces.
Contact information appears at the end of this policy.
2. Information stored on your device
The app is designed to work primarily without a WakeMeUp account or cloud profile. The following information may be stored locally:
- Alarm names, times, enabled state, repeat days, next scheduled occurrence, volume, and fallback sound.
- Selected question category, difficulty, and locally generated or bundled question content.
- Saved Spotify track metadata such as title, artist, and Spotify URI.
- Imported local-audio paths and private copies of user-selected audio files.
- Question-bundle entitlement status and transaction metadata needed to display restored purchases.
- Diagnostic information and recent alarm-event logs used by the in-app troubleshooting screen.
- App preferences, including the configured bundled fallback sound.
WakeMeUp does not upload your alarm schedule, question answers, or imported audio files to our servers as part of normal alarm operation.
3. Information sent to WakeMeUp servers
Website and support messages
When you submit the contact form or email support, we may receive your name, email address, subject, message, device details you provide, and related correspondence. The website may also generate ordinary server logs containing IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or user-agent information, and error details.
Spotify catalog search
When you search for a Spotify track in WakeMeUp, the search phrase is sent to our server-side Spotify search proxy. The proxy obtains a server credential from Spotify and returns limited catalog results such as title, artist, and Spotify URI. The server may temporarily cache search results and use IP address or request metadata for rate limiting, security, and abuse prevention. WakeMeUp does not receive your Spotify password.
In-app purchase verification
When server-side purchase verification is enabled, the app may send the platform, requested product identifier, transaction or purchase identifier, store verification data, and device/app metadata needed to verify the purchase with Apple or Google. We do not receive full payment-card details. We may store product identifiers, transaction identifiers, verification status, timestamps, store environment, and protected or hashed purchase-token data for entitlement restoration, fraud prevention, support, accounting, and legal compliance.
Security and spam prevention
The website may use Google reCAPTCHA on forms. reCAPTCHA may collect device, browser, cookie, interaction, and network information under Google's terms and privacy policy.
4. Third-party services
WakeMeUp may interact with the following providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies:
- Apple: App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, notifications, and AlarmKit on supported devices.
- Google: Google Play distribution and billing, Android platform alarm and notification services, and reCAPTCHA on the website.
- Spotify: catalog search results, Spotify App Remote authorization, and playback through the Spotify app.
- Hosting and email providers: website operation, server logs, security, and delivery of support messages.
Spotify playback requires authorization through Spotify. Removing a saved track from WakeMeUp does not delete information from a Spotify account. Apple and Google retain purchase history under their own policies.
5. How we use information
We use information where necessary to:
- Provide alarm, question, media, purchase, and restoration functionality.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about reported problems.
- Verify in-app purchases and prevent duplicate delivery, abuse, or fraud.
- Operate, secure, debug, maintain, and improve the app, website, and server APIs.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, store, and regulatory obligations.
- Protect users, WakeMeUp, TecDesigns LLC, and third parties.
7. Retention
Local app data remains until you remove it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backup behavior.
Support messages are retained as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, and improve support. Purchase-verification and transaction records may be retained as needed for entitlement restoration, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, legal claims, and compliance. Temporary search caches, security logs, and rate-limit data are retained only as long as reasonably needed for their operational purpose.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple ID, Google account, Spotify account, and email account.
9. Your choices and deletion
- Delete individual alarms from the WakeMeUp dashboard.
- Remove Spotify tracks and imported audio through Saved media.
- Clear all local WakeMeUp data through device settings or by uninstalling the app.
- Revoke Spotify access through Spotify's connected-app controls.
- Control notifications, alarms, media, and platform permissions in device settings.
- Request deletion of support messages or eligible server records by emailing us.
See the Data and Deletion page for step-by-step information. We may retain records that are necessary for legal obligations, accounting, fraud prevention, security, or legal claims.
10. Children's privacy
WakeMeUp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the website or support channels, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Parents and guardians should supervise use by minors and review any app-store purchase controls available on the device.
11. International use
WakeMeUp is operated from the United States. If you use the services from another country, information sent to our website or server APIs may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, website, third-party integrations, or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date will be revised when material changes are posted. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
