WakeMeUp support

Get your alarm ready for the morning

Permission setup, alarm troubleshooting, Spotify help, purchase restoration, and the information to include in a support request.

Start here

Run the in-app diagnostics first

Open WakeMeUp and select the diagnostics icon on the alarm dashboard. Confirm that the required permissions are marked ready, then use Test in 10 seconds with the device locked.

The diagnostics screen can check alarm scheduling, full-screen access, notification permission, platform support, and the difference between native and locally enabled alarm records.

Android alarms

  1. Allow notifications. WakeMeUp uses an alarm notification and foreground service while ringing.
  2. Allow Alarms & reminders or exact alarms. This lets the alarm run at the selected time instead of an approximate time.
  3. Allow full-screen alarm access. This lets the challenge appear over the lock screen where Android permits it.
  4. Check battery restrictions. Set WakeMeUp to Unrestricted or Not optimized on devices with aggressive battery management.
  5. Do not force-stop the app. Android blocks an app's alarms after a force-stop until the app is opened again.

Swiping WakeMeUp from the recent-app list is different from force-stopping it. The native alarm is designed to continue after a normal swipe-away.

iPhone alarms

  • Allow alarm and notification authorization when requested.
  • On supported newer iOS versions, WakeMeUp uses AlarmKit for system-managed alarm behavior.
  • On older iOS versions, leave WakeMeUp available in the background and do not force-close it before relying on continuous app audio.
  • Use the in-app diagnostics page to see which reliability mode applies to the device.
Older iOS versions cannot guarantee continuous custom alarm audio after the app is terminated. WakeMeUp uses a notification fallback and displays this limitation in the app.

Spotify playback

Spotify alarms use Spotify App Remote after WakeMeUp's native bundled fallback begins. The fallback is muted only after the selected track is verified as playing.

  • Install the official Spotify app and sign in.
  • Approve WakeMeUp when Spotify asks for authorization.
  • Keep network access available.
  • On-demand track playback may require Spotify Premium.
  • If Spotify pauses, disconnects, or changes tracks, WakeMeUp resumes the bundled fallback.

If authorization fails repeatedly, remove WakeMeUp from Spotify's connected apps, reopen Spotify, and authorize again.

Imported local audio

WakeMeUp copies selected audio into its private app storage. Use Saved media inside WakeMeUp to preview or remove imported files.

If a file is missing or unreadable at alarm time, the configured bundled fallback is used. Removing media that is assigned to an enabled alarm first replaces that alarm's sound with the fallback and reschedules it.

Question-bundle purchases

  • Question bundles are non-consumable purchases tied to the Apple ID or Google account used for payment.
  • Use Restore purchases in the Question Bundles page after reinstalling or changing devices on the same platform account.
  • WakeMeUp does not receive payment-card information.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies.

When contacting support, include the product name, platform, approximate purchase date, and any error shown. Do not send full purchase tokens, passwords, or payment-card details.
